Ginagawa ko lahat to make things better.
Written 23 hours ago · · · Report NoteIt was supposed to be a happy celebration. Nagpunta ang mga estudyante to cheer for their college representatives sa PLM Fashionista 2010. But the almost-five-hour program culminated in a very controversial manner. Because of erroneous calculations, the results of the event were put in question. Many people were upset.
The present Supreme Student Council was the main organizer of all the student-sponsored events of the Foundation Day. Although it partnered with various College Student Councils and student organizations, it still had the responsibility to supervise and monitor all the student activities to ensure that everything was executed properly.
Everybody waited for the SSC's move to address the fiasco caused by the error of the Tabulation Committee of the PLM Fashionista 2010. A public apology would have been a good approach had it been done with a sense of urgency and conveyed with whole-hearted sincerity. But such apology was only issued after the winners of the Ginoo at Binibining Pamantasan contest were announced shortly before midnight yesterday. It was delivered while the audience have started leaving the venue of the event.
I don't know the reason why the SSC chose such timing. The apology, which was intended to remedy the damage caused by the fiasco, provoked more people to get angry. People felt that the SSC did not give priority to the matter. Hence, the sincerity of the apology was tainted badly. Instead of resolving the matter, the SSC had inadvertently caused divisiveness among the students of the colleges involved.
I am very saddened and disappointed by the "kampi-kampihan" that was spawned by the Fashionista fiasco. Many are claiming that the SSC's credibility to organize events is now debatable, as well as its ability to handle a crisis and make crucial decisions. The public apology that they delivered Saturday night was not welcomed by the aggrieved parties. In my opinion, the SSC needs to regroup and come up with a better game plan. And they need to do it fast.
Meanwhile, I urge the students to remain calm and refrain from getting emotional about what happened. It may be a difficult thing to ask since many feelings were deeply hurt. But you have to remember that the fault came from the Tabulation Committee, at pare-pareho lang kayong naging biktima ng pagkakamaling yun. You shouldn't be fighting. PLM Fashionista was a competition, but that competition ended Friday night.Benafe Gorospe and 14 others like this.Carlo Yanesai agree. i happen to be in plm that night during PLM fashionista, and truly, it is a disappointing sight. nakaka-frustrate. as a proffesional who works for events, i am saddened by how the organizers made the event longer than one can ever imagine. plus the handling of the tabulation- talagang kapuna puna.and finding out that they announced the mix... See More up right after BB. and Ginoong Pamantasan made it worse.
hopefully people learned something from this experience. wag sanang gawing praktisan ang mga ganitong projects, nakakasama sa imahe ng pamantasan. proper planning should have been set days or weeks before the event was staged, and correct execution should have been implemented.it's no joke to be put in the spotlight because of other people's wrong doings.

Let us not resolve a problem through its branches. Let's go directly to the roots.47 minutes ago · ·1 person ·
Carlo Yanesa@ jeremae. i agree. it's not solely the council's fault. maraming factors that led to this dilemma. hindi lamang sila ang organizers ng event.at hindi lang naman fashionista ang may mga aberya. but sadly jeremae, as the supreme student council, sila kasi ang over-all in charge sa lahat ng activities. kaya sila ang pangkalahatang nahaharap sa isyu. ... See Morepero ang mas malaking tanong, eh paano natin maiiwasan at masosolusyonan ang ganitong mga pagkakataon?un siguro ang mas pagtuunan ng pansin ng nakararami. hindi ang pasakitan ang isa't isa. it will only drain everyone.39 minutes ago · · FlagJeremae De Guzman@kuya Carlo: Nakatie-up po kami sa Binibini at Ginoo, and we spent hours, even days of planning, preparing and everything, para maging successful ang Binibini at Ginoo. And it was. SSC po ang head organizer pero we took the initiative na gawin na lahat kahit hindi kami College Council dahil alam naming responsibilidad namin yun. Sa Fashionista, meron po bang gumawa nun to help the head organizer? Hindi po kaya yun ang kulang?33 minutes ago · ·Carlo Yanesai can't answer that for you jeremae. it might. we'll have to know more from people concerned. pero it's nice to hear that ur team made that effort to make bb. at ginoong pamantasan work. ang wish ko lang, eh di na maulit ang ganitong mga pagkakataon. it only demean plm's capability to mount / stage such activities. with that said, i will sleep na. haha. hope some light was shed thru this conversation.27 minutes ago · · Flag
